Dancing in the Clouds

Dancing in the Clouds is the ultimate way to add a little more excitement to any event. Whether for your first dance, on your wedding day or to add that "WOW!!" factor when launching a new product. Mercedes NZ were blown away by the effect that our dry ice machine had at the launch of their new AMG range, in Taupo last year. Bride's & Grooms love the sensation of literally Dancing in the Clouds. Stage productions and dance performances become

The Nimbus is a professional dry ice machine which produces thick, white fog that hugs the floor and dissipates without rising. This powerful machine heats enough water to create fog from 5kg of dry ice to provide 6 minutes of run time. Output and flow are easily controlled, thanks to an adjustable multi-level control arm. Dual heaters allow for faster heat-up and recycle times. Dry Ice is completely safe when handled by a Groove DJ staff member. The fog is non-toxic and won't set off fire alarms.

How it Works

Dry ice is a solid form of carbon dioxide. The term "dry ice" is used because of its ability to sublimate - the process of transforming from a solid directly to a gas without any liquid formation. Dry ice reaches a temperature of -189.5 °F (-87.5 °C). When immersed in hot or boiling water, dry ice sublimates and agitates the water. The releases cold C02 gas causes the water vapor to form water droplets in the air. This expansion of gas and moisture pushes its way out of the machine. Because the C02 is cold and heavy, the moisture sinks to the floor. The droplets in the air create the fog effect.
